The schooner departs from Manaus, capital of the State of Amazonas, for a 4-day cruise visiting the Anavilhanas Archipelago.
The cruises depart from Manaus, capital of the State of Amazonas, a city in the jungle that prospered during the rubber boom last century. This is a four-day cruise visiting the Anavilhanas Archipelago, the largest river archipelago in the world, and its igarapés (permanent river channels) and igapós (non-permanent river channels). Due to its acid waters, endemic mosquitoes are practically inexistent. The cruise also includes daily explorations and activities in safe motorized boats into the jungle, as well as a rich Amazonian cuisine served in the panoramic restaurant.
ITINERARY
EVERY DAY A SURPRISING DAY IN THE AMAZON RIVER
DAY 1
Manaus / Tres Bocas - Anavilhanas
Boarding from 1:30 PM. Departure at 2:00 PM. We will be welcomed with a “caipirinha”, followed by an introduction to the crew and an explanation of safety procedures by the captain. The guide will explain the trip itinerary. Cold lunch served during the navigation towards the "Meeting of the Waters". Navigation to Tres Bocas – Anavilhanas. Dinner on board. Departure shortly after for a reconnaissance tour and possible caiman sighting. Overnight stay.
DAY 2
Anavilhanas Archipelago
Early in the morning, before breakfast, at 6:00 AM, departure in canoes to witness the awakening of the jungle and the singing of the birds. Return for breakfast on board. Departure in canoes for a jungle walk, accompanied by a local guide(caboclo), who will explain the medicinal uses of the plants, with the possibility of spotting birds and some animals. Visit at flourmill house, where the process for planting for use is explained. We will have the opportunity to eat fresh “tapioca”. Return for breakfast onboard. Continue navigating to the floating dock to observe pink dolphins and “pirarucu” fish. Navigate to the Paraná do Ariau to contemplate the dense jungle and possibly spot monkeys. Continue by canoe to the meeting point at the mouth of the Ariau River. Lunch onboard. In the afternoon, piranha fishing and a night tour. Dinner onboard. Overnight stay.
DAY 3
Acajatuba Lake
Breakfast onboard. 3-hour navigation through the interior of the Anavilhanas Islands to the IBAMA station. Informative talk about their role in the Amazon, we will have the opportunity to see caimans, and then we will continue sailing towards the Tatuio tribe. Lunch onboard. Arrival and visit to the Tatuio indigenous village to learn about their habits and customs. Return to the boat and sail to Tupé Beach or Jacaré Ubau Beach, depending on the river level. Dinner onboard. Overnight stay.
DAY 4
Manaus
Breakfast onboard. Sail back to the port in Manaus, with estimated arrival at 11:00 a.m. Disembarkation. The itinerary may change without prior notice, depending on weather conditions, while maintaining a similar program.
